THE OPPORTUNITY
Placemaker Construction is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead a ground-up community project in the Lytton area.
This role is best suited to someone based in Vancouver or Interior BC (Kelowna, Kamloops, or surrounding areas), and willing to live away from home during the work week for the duration of the project. Accommodation and a food allowance are provided while on site.
The project is expected to run approximately18 months, including mobilization and close-out.
Beyond managing trades, schedule, safety, and quality, this role requires strong leadership and relationship-building. The Superintendent will help build trust with the community, respect local priorities and protocols, and ensure the project is delivered to a high standard.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of Site Superintendent experience delivering wood-frame commercial and/or institutional projects.
· Proven experience leading subcontractors, trades and site personnel, with a strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, building codes and regulations.
· Excellent and respectful written and verbal communication skills.
· A valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
· The ability to work on site in the Lytton area during the work week for the duration of the project.
· Experience with construction management and scheduling software such as Jonas Premier, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word is an asset.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Site Superintendent, you‘ll lead day-to-day site operations and take ownership of delivering the project safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project schedule and quality expectations.
You will:
- Lead all on site-construction activities from mobilization through completion, coordinating trades, subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work; identify discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with the project team.
- Own the day-to-day schedule, including look-aheads, labour, materials and equipment, and proactively address delays or conflicts that could impact progress.
- Conduct regular site and construction coordination meetings and provide clear direction to contractors and site personnel.
- Monitor workmanship and quality of construction and ensure work is completed in accordance with project documents, codes, and requirements.
- Coordinate municipal, provincial, consultant and other inspections, and maintain accurate site reports and project documentation, monitor site progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and project team regarding schedule, labour, materials, quality, and potential issues.
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment with the CSO, ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements, the project safety plan and site-specific protocols.
- Build and maintain respectful and collaborative working relationships with the Kanaka Bar Indian Band, community representatives, and project partners, with an understanding of local priorities and protocols.
