Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to deliver freight efficiently and safely across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local or regional freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and documentation for each trip
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during operations
- Assist in the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading freight
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is advantageous
- Familiarity with automotive repair or basic troubleshooting skills is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety protocols
Pay: $20.05-$30.00 per hour
