Job Summary
MTL TRUCKING LTD is seeking experienced and safety-focused Long Haul Truck Drivers to join our growing team. The successful candidate will transport freight safely and efficiently across Canada and the United States while maintaining excellent customer service and complying with all transportation regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Class 1/AZ commercial tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
- Transport freight throughout Canada and the United States.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Secure cargo according to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and required documentation.
- Follow dispatch instructions and delivery schedules.
- Comply with Canadian and U.S. DOT regulations.
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, delays, or traffic incidents promptly.
- Maintain clean and professional equipment.
- Practice safe driving habits in all weather and road conditions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and border officials.
- Ensure on-time pickup and delivery of freight.
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 (or AZ) Commercial Driver's Licence.
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable long-haul driving experience (preferred).
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Clean criminal background (preferred).
- Valid passport and eligibility to enter the United States.
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. Hours of Service regulations.
- Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
- Ability to drive for extended periods and travel for multiple days.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAST Card (Asset)
- Mountain driving experience
- Flatbed experience (if applicable)
- Reefer experience
- Multi Temp experience
Pay:
- Single Driver: $0.60 per mile
- Team Driver: $0.30 per mile (per driver)
- Additional waiting, layover, and extra pick-up/drop pay, where applicable.
