Hill+Knowlton Strategies is looking for a Public Opinion and Market Research Analyst at the Senior Consultant level to join our Ottawa-based research and analytics team.
H+K’s research and analytics practice includes experts in quantitative and qualitative research methods, as well as analytics and measurement We work with a diverse range of clients to help them understand audiences, including citizens, customers, members and stakeholders. We work with federal, provincial and municipal governments, Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and professional associations.

Here’s what you’d be doing:
We are seeking a talented researcher and writer to join our research and analytics team. An ideal candidate must have the ability to understand and analyze large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data and be able to synthesize this into lucidly written summary reports for clients. The candidate should have excellent writing skills, a solid grasp of statistics and research methods, and a sophisticated understanding programs such as SPSS, Excel and PowerPoint. They would also be intellectually curious and have a good understanding of public policy issues.

What you’ll need to get here:
Qualifications:
Superior writing/editing skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex content for a public audience
Demonstrated research, analysis and synthesis skills
Superior oral communication skills for delivery to private and public sector clients
Strong grasp of public policy issues
Proficiency with software used in market research and analytics (e.g., SPSS, Excel and PowerPoint.)
Professional experience in market and/or public opinion research, including questionnaire design, sampling, quantitative data analysis, production of reports using PowerPoint charts, conducting one-on-one interviews and focus groups, qualitative data analysis and report writing.
Bilingualism (oral and written French and English) is a considerable asset

Requirements
Three to five years’ experience in a consulting role or equivalent experience in market and/or public opinion research
Highly developed written communications skills (bilingualism is an asset)
IT skills: SPSS, Q, R, Excel and PowerPoint
Post-secondary degree in the humanities or social sciences (graduate degree is an asset).
Ability to work independently and on a high-performing team.
