We seek to enhance our team through the recruitment of an experienced, high potential individual into the role of Training Officer within our Projects and Safety Training section.
The Training Officer is responsible for development of training, scheduling of training, and the administration of the training programs the section supports.
The temporary position may be up to 24 months in duration and more than one (1) may be required.
Analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate training.
Scope, develop plans and schedules for assigned projects.
Monitor project progress.
Manage changes to the training program, section resources, and schedules on a day-to-day basis.
Evaluate training processes and identify areas for improvement.
Consult on process issues with line management.
Perform other duties as required.
Skills and Knowledge:
Experience in, and an understanding of, the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process would be of benefit.
Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to influence others positively to achieve corporate goals.
Ability to prioritize and coordinate projects and work programs to achieve deliverables on time, on budget, and to the appropriate level of quality and regard for safety.
Welcomes change and seeks out opportunities to apply different approaches and obtain different perspectives.
The ability to oversee and manage a Training Program.
Ability to utilize standard software tools (e.g. MS Office, Project, Access) to support business needs.
Ability to develop, maintain and implement policies, procedures and programs.
Ability to maintain a strategic focus (i.e., ability to look ahead and prepare for the future).
Knowledge of MAXIMO applications would be of benefit (contract management, action tracking, controlled documents, etc.)
Education and Experience:
A four-year (4 year) University education in an appropriate field including; adult education, engineering, applied sciences or project management
A period of over 6 years up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience
Education and Experience per the above qualifications and experience
Transferable skills (for example, effective communication, drive for accountability and results, time/organizational management, collaboration and teamwork)
