Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Communications Cabling Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, terminating, and testing structured cabling systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical diagrams.
- Ensure installations meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians on-site.
- Travel to various job sites across the Maratimes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in communications cabling or related field.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Communications Cabling Specialist Certificate recognized by the Chief Electrical Inspector of Nova Scotia 1.
- Strong understanding of cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI).
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Assets:
- BICSI certification or equivalent.
- Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing.
- WHMIS and Fall Protection certifications.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
