Tidewater is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Financial Analyst, Downstream based in Calgary. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing complex financial models including analysis of financial results and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide financial support to the business unit
- Drive improvements in monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial analysis and reporting processes
- Prepare Ad hoc economic analysis and management reports as needed
- Prepares monthly lookbacks comparing accruals and budgets to actuals
- Supports Finance and Commercial Operations as necessary
- Prepare monthly revenue and operating expense accruals
- Involved in billing and management of accounts receivable
- Capital spending analysis
- Journal entry review
- Prepare monthly excise tax returns
- Other tasks, as required
Education and Experience:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of relevant experience, specific Downstream experience would be considered an asset
- Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their CPA designation
- Experience with Qbyte would be an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other financial reporting software
- Effective and highly collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a changing work environment
- Knowledge of internal control processes
- Attention to detail and time management skills
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Ability to solve problems and manage workflow
- Self-directed and ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment
