Position Overview
We are seeking a Pet Groomer to join our team. This role is focused on providing professional grooming services for dogs and cats in a safe, clean, and caring veterinary clinic environment.
This position is ideal for someone who is patient, detail-oriented, comfortable working with animals of different sizes and temperaments, and committed to providing a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
Grooming Duties:
Provide grooming services for dogs and cats, including bathing, brushing, drying, trimming, clipping, and styling based on client requests and pet needs
Perform basic grooming care such as nail trims, ear cleaning, coat maintenance, and sanitary trims
Assess coat condition, skin condition, and overall pet comfort during grooming appointments
Handle pets safely, gently, and compassionately throughout the grooming process
Communicate any concerns regarding skin, coat, ears, nails, behavior, or general health to the veterinary team
Maintain accurate grooming notes and client preferences
Keep grooming tools, equipment, and work areas clean, disinfected, and organized
Follow clinic protocols for safety, cleanliness, and animal handling
Manage grooming appointments efficiently while maintaining quality care and attention to detail
Client & Team Support Duties:
Communicate professionally with clients regarding grooming requests, pet condition, coat care, and follow-up recommendations
Work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and reception staff
Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented clinic environment
Assist with general clinic organization and cleanliness when needed
What We Are Looking For
Previous pet grooming experience is preferred
Comfortable grooming and handling dogs and cats of different sizes, breeds, coat types, and temperaments
Strong animal handling skills with a calm and compassionate approach
Strong communication and customer service skills
Professional, friendly, and team-oriented attitude
Ability to stay organized and manage grooming appointments in a busy clinic environment
Attention to detail and pride in quality grooming work
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow clinic protocols
Willingness to work respectfully as part of a veterinary care team
Schedule & Availability
Full-time and part-time applicants may be considered
Must be available for a mix of weekday shifts
Some weekend availability may be required
Final schedule will be discussed during the interview process
