Community Living North Bay (CLNB) is building a diverse, multi-disciplinary team to provide responsive and person-centered supports to transitional aged youth and adults living within our community. These youth and adults often experience dual diagnosis, history of trauma, and complex support needs. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Direct Support Professionals will support youth and adults to achieve their goals and dreams; facilitate daily programming, recreational activities, and community participation; engage in transitional and long-term planning; and engage in advocacy to make a positive impact on youth and adults who live within our community. This team of professionals will provide a wide range of knowledge, experience, and will be alternately trained across other CLNB’s Specialized Services Programs.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Part Time Direct Support Professionals’ responsibility is to assist in the support of people’s choices, goals and dreams. To ensure people have the opportunity to live, work and play in integrated environments, participate in their community and have social roles
WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE?
- Support individuals in achieving their Personal Outcomes, as outlined in Community Living North Bay’s policies.
- Assist individuals with taking prescribed medications in accordance with CLNB’s medication protocols.
- Provide support with personal finances, promoting responsibility and independence.
- Promote safety, well-being, and security, ensuring individuals are free from abuse, neglect, and harm.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized support plans based on each person's unique needs and goals
ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON?
- Mental Health and Addictions or Social Service Worker
- You have diverse and transferable skills
- You have experience in supporting transitional aged youth and adults who have a dual diagnosis who may be involved with the criminal justice system or forensics program
- You have the ability to maintain a high standard of privacy and confidentiality
- You believe in support that fosters life skills, advocacy, and safety and security that meet the vision, values, and mission statement of Community Living North Bay
- You have a strong focus on crisis intervention and risk management
- You engage youth and adults with cultural sensitivity, non-judgmental approach, and a trauma-informed care lens
- You are available for all shifts including, days, evenings, weekends, and overnights.
- You have a valid Ontario Driver’s License (access to a reliable vehicle is a bonus!)
- Vulnerable Sector Non-Criminal Check
COMPENSATION: $24.55 per hour, plus 4.25% in lieu of benefits, plus 4 % in lieu of vacation, plus optional participation in pension plan.
SCHEDULE: Variety of shifts available 7 days a week – days / evenings / nights
