About the Role
As a Yoga Instructor, you will lead group yoga classes designed to accommodate various skill levels and abilities. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where students feel encouraged and supported. This role also involves ensuring proper technique, promoting injury prevention, and cultivating a mindful experience in every session. You will represent the values of the studio both in and out of class, contributing to a strong sense of community and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and safe yoga classes for individuals of all experience levels
- Develop class sequences appropriate for the class style (e.g., Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative)
- Offer modifications and adjustments to meet students’ individual needs
- Arrive early to prepare the space and stay after to connect with students
- Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of the studio before and after classes
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students
- Maintain up-to-date CPR/First Aid certification and yoga credentials
- Attend occasional studio meetings, trainings, or events as needed
- Promote upcoming classes, workshops, or events (optional based on studio goals)
Qualifications
- 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) certification from a recognized yoga school
- Prior experience teaching yoga classes (in-person or virtual), preferably 1+ years
- Strong understanding of yoga principles, alignment, anatomy, and safety
- Ability to lead inclusive classes for a range of experience levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
Job Type: Freelance
Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
