Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Litigation Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation processes, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to effectively negotiate on behalf of clients. This role involves managing complex legal cases, preparing legal documents, and representing clients in court proceedings. The Litigation Lawyer will play a vital role in ensuring our clients' interests are protected through strategic legal advocacy and thorough case analysis.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis/Canlii to support case strategies.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, applications, and briefs with precision and clarity.
- Develop case strategies by analyzing evidence, identifying legal issues, and preparing for trial or settlement negotiations.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and questionings with professionalism and confidence.
- Negotiate settlements and other resolutions that align with client objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective legal solutions.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents affecting litigation cases.

Requirements and Preferences:
- Juris Doctor or equivalent degree from an accredited law school or Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation.
- Must be an active member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
- At least 2 years of Experience in Civil Litigation is strongly preferred, and additional years of experience are a considerable asset.
- At least two independent references must be provided.
Pay: $60,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
