The Opportunity
As an Office Furniture Installer / Delivery Driver, you play a dual role, safely delivering and professionally installing furniture in homes, offices, and community spaces. Your attention to detail, safe driving, and quality workmanship contribute directly to the customer experience and support IFA’s mission of accessible, affordable furniture and inclusive employment.
Schedule & Terms
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Overtime: Overtime, evenings, and weekends as required.
Probation: 90-day probationary period.
Compensation: $18.50 - $22.50
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Transportation
- Load, transport, and unload furniture and related goods to designated customer locations.
- Drive company vehicles safely, following assigned routes and all traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and report any vehicle maintenance concerns.
- Review customer orders to ensure the correct items and tools are loaded for each delivery.
- Handle delivery paperwork and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
Furniture Installation
- Assemble and install furniture including desks, chairs, cabinets, shelving units, and modular systems.
- Follow floorplans and layout instructions to ensure accurate, damage-free installation.
- Inspect furniture prior to delivery for quality assurance and readiness.
- Communicate with customers and other trades people on-site to confirm preferences and resolve concerns.
- Use hand and power tools safely and keep tools and equipment in good condition.
Team Support & Warehouse Assistance
- Assist with loading and securing delivery items in coordination with warehouse staff.
- Help organize inventory, prepare staging areas, and relocate items as needed.
- Collaborate with the sales, design, and delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Report any damages, shortages, or customer feedback to supervisors.
Customer Service
- Represent IFA’s values of respect, inclusion, and community commitment in every customer interaction.
- Provide basic product care instructions and handle minor service concerns professionally.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Punctuality and reliability are essential, consistent attendance, on-time starts, and dependable follow-through are core requirements of this role.
- Valid driver’s license with a 5–7-year clean driver’s abstract; able to operate a delivery vehicle.
- Bondable, with a satisfactory criminal record check.
- Experience in furniture installation, delivery, or moving is preferred.
- Skilled in using assembly / hand tools and interpreting layout plans.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and interpret measurements related to blueprints and building layouts.
- An understanding of technical documentation, including manufacturer guidelines.
- Mechanical aptitude with hand-tool experience in previous roles.
- Past working knowledge of furniture systems, electrical wiring, and carpentry is an asset.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and other trades people on job sites.
- Safety-conscious and professional, with strong time-management skills.
- Commitment to continual improvement demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn.
Working Conditions
- Physically active role requiring frequent lifting, bending, and travel between locations.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions during deliveries and installations.

Work Location: In person
