Position: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Brampton, Ontario
Schedule: Full-time, In-Office, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator with a strong background in freight brokerage and dispatch operations. This role is focused on carrier sourcing, load execution, and real-time shipment management across Canada and cross-border lanes.
The ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a freight brokerage environment, with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously, negotiate effectively with carriers, and ensure high service levels for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and dispatch carriers for LTL, FTL, and cross-border shipments
- Manage day-to-day load execution from pickup to delivery
- Track and trace shipments proactively, updating TMS, internal teams, and customers
- Coordinate with shippers, consignees, and carriers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
- Resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently (delays, reconsignments, accessorials, etc.)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners
- Provide competitive and accurate rates to the sales team
- Monitor carrier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure accurate data entry, documentation, and billing support
- Identify opportunities to upsell and support business growth
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a freight brokerage / dispatch role (Canada required)
- LTL & FTL operations (domestic and cross-border)
- Carrier market and pricing dynamics
- Local drayage and airport shipments
- Solid understanding of transit times, routing, and geography across Canada and the U.S.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy in order management
- Proficient in TMS systems, Excel, and Outlook.
