About Us:
At GSA GearShift Auto, our mission is simple: Auto Repair Without the Headache. We are a newly opened, modern automotive service shop in Saskatoon built on trust, transparency, and quality workmanship. We don’t believe in guessing, replacing random parts, or pressuring customers into unnecessary repairs. Instead, we diagnose accurately, explain things in plain language, prioritize safety (Now / Soon / Monitor), and never perform additional work without customer approval.
We are looking for a skilled, honest, and detail-oriented, full-time mechanic to join our founding team. If you take pride in fixing cars right the first time and want to work in a shop that respects both its technicians and its customers, we want to meet you.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform accurate, efficient diagnostics on a wide variety of makes and models using our streamlined Same-Day Diagnosis process.
- Complete mechanical repairs including brakes, steering & suspension, engine repair, cooling systems, heating & A/C, and batteries/charging.
- Perform routine maintenance and oil changes.
- Clearly document your findings, recommended repairs, and priority levels (Now, Soon, Monitor) so our front desk can easily explain them to customers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work bay and shop environment.
- Quality-check all vehicles before returning them to customers.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 2+ years of proven experience as an automotive mechanic/technician. (Red Seal certification or diploma is a strong asset, but we highly value hands-on diagnostic skills and a great attitude.)
- Diagnostic Skills: You know how to identify the root cause, rather than just replacing parts to address symptoms.
- Integrity: You believe in honest work and understand that building trust with customers is as important as the repair itself.
- Tools: You have your own standard set of hand tools necessary for general mechanical repairs; additional tools will be provided.
- Driver’s License: A valid Class 5 driver's license (required for test drives and assisting with our complimentary customer transportation program).
- Team Player: Strong communication skills and a positive, problem-solving attitude.
