About the Position:
Reporting to the ReStore Manager and working together in a team environment with the Warehouse Lead and the Customer Service Associates, as well as working together with the staff of the ReStore, the warehouse associate, is an important link to our donor. This position fosters Habitat for Humanity’s professionalism by fully servicing and stewardship of our donors relating to the movement of merchandise suitable for resale in our ReStore. Responsibilities include: warehouse upkeep, donation repair and cleaning, customer service, assisting volunteers, assisting with customer pickups, donor drop offs and helping with on the road pickups as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Safety
- Reports any safety hazard to Restore Manager
- Ensures 100% compliance to all safety policies and procedures and utilizes appropriate safety equipment and seeks assistance when necessary
- Actively pursues safety improvements
- Careful, cautious and safe operation of truck utilizing all available resources and methods that is in compliance with all rules, regulations and laws.
Customer/Vendor Donations pickup
- Maintain professional and consistent communication when interacting with donors, customers and staff
- Answer phones and assist with donor inquiries
- Provides direction to ‘volunteers on pick up and deliveries to ensure safe and effective completion of all duties
Warehouse and Grounds upkeep
- Receiving of new suitable and saleable inventory
- Supporting volunteers to bring product to the floor, housekeeping of their work areas
- Tends to the clean-up and of the store’s yard
- Maintenance of warehouse area (if applicable)
Pricing of Inventory
- Ensures all inventory has clear and visible pricing before coming onto the floor
- Researching new product and pricing for maximum return
- Cataloguing of product pricing for future use
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with donors, volunteers, and staff members
- Sound judgment, prioritization skills
- Self-starter, high energy and strong independent work ethic
- Computer literate; MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task and is team-oriented
- Experience working in volunteer organization an asset
- Safety orientated
- Lifting required, at times heavy lifting.
