Class 1 / AZ Truck Driver – Highway Tractor-Trailer
Job Summary
The Highway Tractor-Trailer Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across North America. The driver must operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all federal, provincial/state, and company safety regulations while ensuring timely delivery of freight, proper documentation, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate highway tractor-trailer combinations safely and professionally.
- Transport freight throughout North America.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer.
- Complete electronic logs (ELD), trip reports, fuel reports, and required paperwork accurately.
- Secure cargo according to load securement regulations.
- Verify load weights, dimensions, and shipping documents.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report defects immediately.
- Maintain communication with dispatch regarding trip status, delays, or incidents.
- Comply with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned truck and equipment.
- Respond professionally to customers, border officials, and enforcement officers.
- Report accidents, incidents, violations, or mechanical issues promptly.
QualificationsEducation
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
License Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence that is at least 1 year old or older
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of highway tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Experience operating dry van, reefer, flatbed, or specialized trailers is an asset.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations.
- Understanding of Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and Hours of Service rules.
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections and identify mechanical defects.
- Knowledge of cargo securement standards.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet delivery schedules.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) when required.
- Ability to climb in and out of trucks and trailers.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Mandatory Certifications and Documents
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License.
- Driver’s Abstract (within the last 30 days).
Working Conditions

Safety Requirements
Drivers must:
- Wear seat belts at all times.
- Conduct mandatory daily vehicle inspections.
- Follow all company safety policies.
- Prohibit the use of drugs and alcohol while on duty.
- Avoid distracted driving, including cellphone use while driving.
- Maintain ELD compliance at all times.

Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: Based on experience and per mileage rate.
Location: Both Canada and US lanes.
Pay: $7,000.00-$10,000.00 per month
