Overview
The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of public areas, staff rooms, hallways, and closets, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both staff and guests. This role involves daily cleaning tasks such as replenishing water stations, emptying trash, cleaning washrooms, and dusting high-traffic areas. The Houseperson will also assist in maintaining the housekeeping station, ensuring all equipment is functional, and will work as part of a team to support various departmental functions. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness are essential in this position, as is the ability to work independently and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Check water stations Gallon Jugs.
- Empty all garbage/recycling bins in all offices, staff room, laundry, public spaces & outside bins.
- Ensure mop head is changed daily for cleaning all public tiled flooring & staff room.
- Clean entrance glass surfaces.
- Polish/sanitize chrome surfaces on door handles and elevators.
- Clean coffee station & dust game room and lobby surfaces.
- Clean public/staff washrooms (kitchen, pool area, third floor & lobby).
- Upkeep and clean water slide area.
- Replenish pool towels and remove wet towels.
- Vacuum dust all offices.
- Dust ballroom baseboards & clean ballroom sofa.
- Organize and clean the Houseman station & cart.
- Maintain vacuums.
- Refill chemical bottles.
- On-going inspection of public areas for cleanliness (baseboards, stairways, windows).
- Maintain and inspect public and staff areas for cleanliness (including washrooms, gym, and pool area).
- Replenish alcohol gel dispensers and ensure sanitation standards are met.
- Clean and maintain elevator interiors/exteriors and vacuum tracks.
- Inspect and clean all public spaces, including baseboards and stairways, to ensure a pristine environment.
- Clean wash garbage bins and ensure proper waste disposal in all areas.
- Other tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in housekeeping is an asset
- Able to communicate effectively in English.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per hotel standards
Demands
- Able to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Extended time spent on feet, lifting, pushing, bending, walking, reaching, etc.
- Able to deal with stressful situations
