The Job:
Chiron Rx is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Licensed Pharmacist to join our team in Cranbrook. In this role, you will be responsible for dispensing prescriptions, providing medication counselling, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations, and contributing to the overall health and well-being of our patients. This role requires a strong commitment to professional standards, accuracy, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Dispensing & Patient Counselling: Accurately dispense prescription medications and provide comprehensive counselling to patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, drug interactions and storage.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with the College of Pharmacists of BC standards and relevant legislation, including the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, storage, and maintenance of pharmaceutical supplies, ensuring accurate stock levels and proper handling of medications.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances as per regulatory guidelines.
- Health Promotion: Engage in community outreach and health promotion activities, providing education on disease prevention and wellness.
- Supervision: Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and support staff as required.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current on pharmaceutical developments, drug therapies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of BC.
- Authorization to administer injections in BC (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmaceutical compounding, and drug interactions.
- Experience in retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy settings is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with pharmacy software and systems.
