Position Summary
Engineering Maintenance & Reliability Manager is responsible for leading all engineering, maintenance, reliability,
capital projects, and continuous improvement activities across all CT Bakery manufacturing facilities. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, food safety compliance, and cost
effective asset management while supporting production goals and long-term business growth.
The Manager develops engineering strategies, oversees preventive and predictive maintenance
programs, manages capital expenditures (CAPEX), drives continuous improvement initiatives, and builds a high-performing maintenance team focused on reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Department Management
- Develop and execute the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, and Continuous Improvement strategy aligned with CT Bakery's business objectives.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop maintenance supervisors, technicians, electricians, and engineering personnel across all facilities.
- Establish departmental KPls and monitor performance through regular reviews.
- Create succession plans and employee development programs.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop annual operating budgets and long-term capital expenditure (CAPEX) plans.
- Ensure departmental spending remains within budget while maximizing operational
performance.
- Prepare and present monthly engineering and maintenance performance reports to the Plant Manager and Senior Plant Manager.
- Support long-term manufacturing capacity planning, facility improvements, and expansion initiatives across all CT Bakery locations.
- Provide engineering leadership and technical oversight for all CT Bakery manufacturing facilities.
- Develop engineering standards for equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and lifecycle management.
- Lead engineering initiatives involving:
o Process improvements
o Equipment upgrades
o Utility systems
o Plant infrastructure
o Facility expansions
o New production lines
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and robotics to improve productivity, quality, and food safety.
- Collaborate with OEMs, equipment suppliers, contractors, consultants, and system integrators to deliver best-in-class manufacturing solutions.
- Develop and maintain a rolling five-year CAP EX plan for all manufacturing locations.
- Prepare engineering justifications, return-on-investment (ROI) analyses, and business cases for capital investments.
- Oversee equipment commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and final acceptance.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs across all facilities.
- Ensure production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while maximizing uptime.
- Lead maintenance planning and scheduling to support production requirements.
- Prioritize maintenance work based on equipment criticality and production schedules.
- Reduce emergency breakdowns through proactive maintenance planning and asset care.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Develop standardized maintenance procedures and equipment inspection programs.
- Optimize spare parts inventory to minimize downtime while controlling inventory costs.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation, work orders, and equipment records are accurate and up to date.
- Monitor and manage contractor performance for outsourced maintenance and technical services.
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
