The Principal Mechanical Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for being the design authority on our gloveless robotic closed isolator aseptic filling workcells.
This position is part of Cytiva Aseptic Filling located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada and will be hybrid. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
What you will do:
- Participate on cross-functional program core teams as the mechanical design lead and representative; responsible for engineering deliverables and overseeing and directing the activities of subordinate engineers assigned to the project
- Function as lead engineer for mechanical projects on the master priority list; successfully plan and drive projects to timely completion; proactively communicate/escalate any issues impacting the manufacturing schedule, commercial projects and/or planned field service activities related to a project
- Contribute as a subject matter expert and mentor for areas of domain-expertise; maintain cutting-edge expertise in said areas; act as the main point of contact (design authority) for all matters pertaining to mechanical design standards
- Adhere to and champion Cytiva’s Product Lifecycle Process (PLP), Product Sustainment Process (PSUP) and other SOPs
- Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives pertaining to product development and the mechanical design discipline to drive performance excellence.
Who you are:

Minimum 10 years experience in regulated industries

Graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering (or equivalent/better)

Demonstrable proficiency in SolidWorks CAD

Track record of significant contributions to multidisciplinary engineering projects.
It would be a plus if you also:

Are registered as a professional engineer with EGBC.

The salary range for this role is $CAD120,000 - 141,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and retirement planning benefits for eligible employees.
