Position Type: Part-Time Permanent (10-29 hours per week)
Schedule: Varies with shifts occuring at times within Monday - Friday 8AM to 6PM and Weekend 9AM-3PM
Responsibilities:
- Support, train and lead volunteers during shifts, ensuring a positive and productive work environment and addressing questions and concerns as they arise.
- Adhere to safe food handling practices.
- Prep and cook meals in accordance with the menu, maintaining quality and consistency with attention given to nutrition, variety, and portion size.
- Assist in menu planning to ensure productive use of donations
- Communicate effectively with team to ensure consistency in inventory and service.
- Address and resolve as able any issues or challenges that may arise on-site during operational hours, documenting any incidents of concern.
- Maintain building security and follow cleaning & closing procedures.
- Document food donations that arrive to ensure that items are properly stored.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of kitchen procedures and protocols.
- Follow all policy & procedures to maintain a safe welcoming environment for volunteers and guests.
- Communicate incidents, concerns and other relevant information to the Operations Manager.
- Operate Martha’s Table vehicle in accordance with the law for pickup and delivery duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
- Ensure that all equipment, tools and the facility are safe and ready for volunteers and guests to be in and use the space. Alerting the operations manager to any maintenance concerns.
- Report all accidents and specific job training/corrections that occur on the premises (both inside and outside) to the operations manager as needed.
- If First aid or professional help is required (i.e. 911) ensure that the Operations Manager is notified immediately.
- Work in coordination with volunteers and staff to create a welcoming environment for our quests.
- Assume any necessary role due to staff or volunteer shortage and Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preference given to candidates with institutional or bulk cooking such as banquets etc.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with volunteers and staff.
- Safe Food handling certificate required
- A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
