Atlas-Apex Roofing (Calgary) Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, driven individual to join its team. The position represents a first line level Management opportunity to become involved in and support all facets of our ever-expanding Alberta Team. Salary: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 (Salary scale commensurate with qualifications and experience)
Responsibilities Include:
- Attending new construction, re-roofing, roof service and maintenance tender site meetings and working with building owners, tenants, membrane technical representatives and consultants.
- Provide fast, accurate, all-encompassing pricing for a diverse variety of roofing projects.
- Assemble detailed roof replacement quotations and budget presentation reports.
- Continual and proactive communication with clients, consultants & engineers throughout the bidding portion of potential projects.
- Develop new client relations while maintaining and managing our current customer base.
- Ability to read and comprehend job specifications and contract documents. Accuracy and attention to detail of paramount importance.
- Overseeing in progress production work to ascertain appropriate schedules are met and to certify that labour and material for individual projects meet allotted budgets.
- As project progresses communicate with architects, engineers, consultants, building operators, building owners, property managers, as necessary.
- Assess & determine roof types, estimated ages, and current or potential short/long term issues.
- Functionally design a theoretical roof system for various buildings and environments.
- Partaking in the recruitment and acquisition of field workers to join the Atlas-Apex team.
- Being aware of and being prepared to act upon company disciplinary policy.
- Must be a self-motivated person with the ability to work at fast-paced professional level.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- High school diploma a must. College degree a plus.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the industrial, commercial and institutional flat roofing industry, in either supervision or work experience.
- 3-5 years construction (roofing) estimating experience a plus.
- Knowledge of various flat roofing systems: e.g. TPO, PVC, BUR, SBS, EPDM etc.
- Ability to read and comprehend bid specifications and contract documents. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
- Knowledge of Architectural, Structural, and Mechanical plans and details an asset.
- Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to clients, consultants, and other employees within the company as needed.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems in a creative manner. Must be a problem solver.
- Ability to relate well to a multitude of personalities, attitudes and skill sets and can build constructive and effective relationships using diplomacy and tact. Help provide growth to crew members, developing a team of efficient and safe practicing workers through experience and on-going training.
- Fire Safety, torch safety, distinguish and identify creative appropriate and sufficient in the moment alternative waterproofing concepts in the face of unforeseen events.
- Must be a self-motivated person with the ability to work at fast paced professional level.
- Valid Alberta driver’s license with clean abstract.
- TQ or Red Seal an asset.
- Competent skills in sales.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
