United for Literacy is looking for energetic, caring, and creative individuals to join our Summer Literacy Camp team in Carberry, Manitoba as Camp Counsellors.
For more than 100 years, United for Literacy has supported children, youth, adults, and families across Canada through accessible and inclusive literacy programming. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Our Summer Literacy Camp provides children ages 5–12 with a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where literacy comes alive through storytelling, games, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, teamwork, creativity, and exploration.

Key Responsibilities
· Assist with planning and leading daily camp activities
· Facilitate literacy-based games, crafts, storytelling, and educational activities
· Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants
· Supervise and support children during indoor and outdoor activities
· Maintain attendance records and support participant registration
· Encourage teamwork, creativity, confidence, and participation
· Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all campers
· Participate in staff training, meetings, and program evaluations
· Support community and family engagement activities
· Perform additional duties related to camp programming as needed
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
· Legally eligible to work in Canada
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Friendly, responsible, and dependable
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Experience working with children and youth
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred Assets
· Previous experience in camps, education, recreation, or youth programming
· First Aid and CPR certification
· Experience working in community-based programs
Screening Process
Successful candidates will be required to complete:
· Virtual interview
· Three reference checks
· Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (within 6 months of start date)
