Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with various dental procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Experience with dental software such as Abeldent. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where professionalism and compassion are valued. Role also offers some admin duties from time to time.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with safety protocols
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including orthodontic treatments and pediatric dentistry
- Take and develop dental radiographs
- Manage patient records using Abeldent software systems
- Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and greeting patients as a dental receptionist
- Maintain accurate medical terminology documentation for all procedures performed
- Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns throughout their visit
- Support the team with inventory management of dental supplies and materials
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with dental software such as Abeldent for record keeping and scheduling
- Ability to operate systems for digital imaging and diagnostics
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Knowledge of sterilization protocols, infection control, and safety standards in a dental setting
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist is a plus but not required
Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour
