Salary Range: $66,534 to $83,168 per annum commensurate with experience and consistent with the UHN compensation policy
Status: Permanent Full-Time

University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of CRSS Coordinator in our Clinical Research Support Systems Department.

University Health Network (UHN) is a research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network. The scope of research and complexity of cases at UHN have made it a national and international source for discovery, education and patient care. Research across UHN's seven research institutes spans the full spectrum of diseases and disciplines, including cancer, cardiovascular sciences, transplantation, neural and sensory sciences, musculoskeletal health, rehabilitation sciences, and community and population health. The Clinical Research Support Systems department facilitates the navigation of research approval process at UHN and assists researchers with use and development of clinical research tools such as the Coordinated Approval Process for Clinical Research (CAPCR), the Clinical Research Record (CRR), and the Research Ethics Board of Record process. The UHN CAPCR system is a web-based tool utilized for Institutional Authorization (IA), which involves the review and approval from multiple departments across the clinical and research environments at UHN. The CAPCR system guides researchers to obtain all the approvals required to conduct research involving humans at the University Health Network. With the project team, the CRSS Coordinator plays a key role in the successful development and implementation of clinical research tools such as CAPCR and CRR. The CRSS Coordinator plays a critical role in obtaining accurate and efficient Institutional Authorization for Investigators by: conducting quality reviews of all applications, providing education and end user support, developing guidance documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), tracking metrics, and identifying areas for improved efficiencies and implementing solutions. The CRSS Coordinator is also responsible for providing overall support to the study activation processes and both research staff and clinical reviewers at UHN.

Qualifications:
  • At minimum, completion of a Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent, Science or Nursing degree preferred
  • At minimum 3 years’ practical and related experience
  • Previous on-the job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience, in a Microsoft Office environment, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and internet searches
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Comprehensive knowledge of organizational/office practices, procedures and standards
  • Experience working in a health care, scientific or research environment
Vaccines (COVID and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
