Reporting to the Manager, Teaching Services – Learning and Teaching Commons, this exciting new position is responsible for providing direction for blended/online development and delivery at NAIT. This specialized position is required to coordinate administration and operational processes and procedures in order to work most efficiently with the schools. This position would coordinate the Blended@NAIT model of centralized support and will provide support, guidance and mentorship for faculty and staff engaged in online course design and instruction.

This position will be required to provide strategic leadership in blended learning as well as keeping abreast of blended/online best practices to ensure NAIT is responsive to ongoing changes in the field of blended/online learning. The Online Learning Lead would be responsible for the continuous improvement and quality assurance of blended/online curriculum and for broad communication across NAIT.

In collaboration with the Manager, Teaching Services, this position will also be responsible for the leadership of the new online learning team supporting blended projects at NAIT.

Key Responsibilities:
Create/update/revise processes and practices related to blended learning in the Teaching Services unit
Create/revise and communicate policy, procedures, and quality assurance guidelines as they relate to blended/online curriculum and instruction
Coordinate and participate in facilitation of training and support for instructors
Develop an evaluation strategy and plan for collection of relevant statistics
Lead the planning, coordination and implementation of specific blended projects
Supervise the blended team including the assignment and oversight of work
Provide expertise and direction on specific blended projects as assigned
Liaise with internal partners regarding blended/online at NAIT

Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional communication and presentation skills
The ability to build and maintain relationships both internal and external to NAIT
A sound understanding of project management methodologies

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or related field preferred
3-5 years minimum blended/online instruction, development and/or instructional design experience
Previous supervisory experience is required
Equivalencies may be considered

Remuneration: $2,887.98 - $3,872.10 bi-weekly with a comprehensive benefit program.

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement. (Classification: Advisor/Specialist III)
