About NINI Early Learning
NINI Early Learning is a licensed early learning centre in West Vancouver for children ages one to five. We provide a premium early childhood education experience that goes beyond traditional childcare, combining warm, responsive care with a research-aligned curriculum, purposeful play, and a thoughtfully designed environment.
Our curriculum is grounded in proven early learning practices and informed by current understanding of child development and the developing brain. It aligns with the BC Early Learning Framework and supports development across social-emotional growth, language and literacy, mathematics and reasoning, science, creative arts, physical development, and second language exposure.

About the Role
As an Early Childhood Educator at NINI, you will help plan and implement a high-quality early learning program that supports children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, social, language, and creative development.
You will work as part of a professional classroom team to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children feel secure, respected, and inspired to learn. This role is best suited for an educator who is reliable, caring, thoughtful, organized, creative, and open to ongoing learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate early learning experiences that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, social, language, and creative development.
- Plan and lead meaningful activities, including storytelling, songs, art, dramatic play, music, movement, sensory play, STEM experiences, outdoor exploration, and small-group projects.
- Support the NINI curriculum by creating purposeful learning experiences that connect play, observation, and developmental goals.
- Create invitations to play that encourage curiosity, independence, problem-solving, communication, creativity, and confidence.
- Use play-based, responsive, and developmentally appropriate practices in daily programming.
- Incorporate elements of emergent curriculum, Reggio Emilia-inspired thinking, Montessori-inspired independence, and other high-quality early learning practices where appropriate.
- Observe children’s development, interests, strengths, and needs to support individualized learning.
- Assess children’s progress through daily observation and documentation.
- Support children’s social-emotional development, including self-regulation, cooperation, empathy, and positive peer relationships.
- Guide children with warmth, respect, consistency, and appropriate boundaries.
- Encourage independence and self-help skills, including dressing, eating, toileting, handwashing, tidy-up routines, and transitions.
- Provide active supervision throughout the day, both indoors and outdoors.
- Maintain children’s health, safety, security, and well-being at all times.
- Assist with daily routines, including meals, snacks, toileting, handwashing, rest time, dressing, outdoor preparation, and transitions.
- Maintain awareness of allergies, medical needs, individual care plans, and safety requirements.
- Follow proper hygiene, sanitation, cleaning, and infection prevention practices.
- Support classroom setup and reset throughout the day, including arranging furniture, preparing rest areas, organizing materials, and maintaining an orderly learning environment.
- Assist with child-related cleaning duties, including cleaning tables, chairs, toys, learning materials, meal areas, rest areas, and classroom surfaces as needed.
- Help maintain daycare equipment, classroom supplies, toys, books, learning materials, and storage areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Maintain accurate records as required by the centre, licensing regulations, and classroom procedures.
- Communicate with families in a clear, warm, professional, and respectful manner.
- Use the centre communication platform professionally and consistently.
- Protect the privacy and confidentiality of children, families, staff, and centre information.
- Work collaboratively with co-workers, management, families, and community professionals.
- Support Early Childhood Educator Assistants and other classroom team members as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning discussions, training, workshops, coaching, and professional development.
- Follow BC childcare licensing regulations, centre policies, health and safety protocols, and professional expectations.

Qualifications
Required
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain before start date.
- Ability to complete a clear criminal record check before employment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of BC childcare licensing regulations and health and safety expectations.
- Ability to work in person at the centre in West Vancouver.
- Ability to work shifts within the centre’s operating hours of 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Preferred
- 2+ years of childcare experience preferred.
- Experience working with children ages one to five.
- Familiarity with the BC Early Learning Framework.
- Knowledge of play-based learning, emergent curriculum, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or other child-centred approaches.
- Experience using childcare communication platforms.
- Strong classroom organization and documentation skills.
- Interest in curriculum development, leadership, mentorship, or long-term growth within the centre.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to:
- Supervise and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and move between indoor and outdoor environments.
- Lift, carry, and support young children when needed, up to approximately 45 pounds.
- Assist with classroom setup, rest time arrangements, materials, and daily care routines.
- Respond quickly and safely to children’s needs in a busy childcare environment.
- Maintain attention to detail while managing multiple responsibilities.
