Bistoro Ristoro, Italian Restaurant in Ottawa, Byward Market is hiring a Pizzaiolo/a Pizzaiola - Committed to Great Food and Superior Customer Service
Job Duties
- Prepare and store pizza dough
- Prepare pizza sauces
- Prepare pizza bases and ingredients according to the restaurant recipes
- Cook pizzas in a traditional gas fired dome oven
- Check quality of pizzas and finish them before they’re served to guests
- If necessary, trains other cooks in the preparation process so the pizza making process is uniform
- Maintains inventory and orders supplies
- Collaborates effectively with servers and other line cooks in order to efficiently deliver all menu items according to the orders of the customers
- Adhere to restaurant policies and procedures
- Performs regular cleaning of the pizza equipment (preparation, cooling and cooking stations) and reports on needs for its maintenance or reparation
- Makes sure the pizza kitchen area is clean and sanitized
Required skills: Prepare and cook Neapolitan Style Pizza and other soft dough products with high hydration including sandwiches, flat breads, bread bites and bread sticks
Education: culinary training with a focus on Italian food heritage is highly desirable, but not mandatory

Terms of employment:
Either Part-time 12-15 hours/week (Thursday-Saturdays 11.30am-2.30pm and Sundays 11.30-4.00pm),
or Permanent, Full time 30-44 hours/week (Thursday-Saturdays 11.30am-2.30pm and 5.30 until close and Sundays 11.30-4.00pm)
