CORE Cabling Inc. is a young, dynamic and growing company specializing in the installation of structured cable and wireless network systems. We are headquartered in Newmarket, Ontario and are seeking Network Cable Installers to work in our Vancouver branch.
CORE offers a broad range of end-to-end copper and fibre optic network cabling solutions for customers' high-speed data networks and VOIP telecommunications systems.
We also offer custom wireless solutions, including indoor and outdoor 802.11 Wi-Fi, Point to Point and Lan Extensions.
Our full-service, customer-focused solutions include installing voice and data cabling, connections, and related hardware, wireless design, RF surveys, installation and support, plus network services that include network design, smart hand services, project management, installation and maintenance.

We are looking for team members to help us grow and currently have positions open for installers in the greater Vancouver area.
Mandatory Requirements
All candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- Must be able to work days, evenings or weekend shifts as required depending on project or scope.
- Must follow and adhere to Core’s Occupational Health and Safety standards
- Must have valid driver's licence in good standing
- Must have a vehicle that has the capacity to carry a 6’ step ladder.
- Must be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work on step-ladders and at heights up to 50’.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English
Level 1: Cable Installer
Level I is the entry position and candidates typically will have 1-2 years experience performing the following functions:
- Understanding a simple floor plan
- Installing pathways such as conduit and raceway
- Installing equipment racks, cabinets, patch panels and back-boards
- Pulling Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A multi-pair copper, coax and single and multi-mode fibre optic cables
- Installing and labeling wall, furniture and floor jacks
Level 2: Networking Technician
In addition to the requirements for a Level 1 Cable Installer, a Level 2 Networking Technician will have experience in the following areas:
- Terminating, labeling and testing copper and fibre optic cables
- Installing punch-down blocks and terminating copper cables, including 25 and 50-pair cables
- Ability to use Fluke or similar cable tester
- Experience in using an OTDR and Fusion Splicer
- Operating scissor and boom lifts
- Assisting and training Level 1 Cable Installers
A typical Level 2 Networking Technician will have 2-5 years of field experience.
