The role of the Lead Painter is to oversee individual small projects or a variety of smaller projects or specific scopes of work at any given time. The work involves coordinating painting work according to priorities and plans from the award of contracts to completion which involves confirming budgets and schedules on a regular basis. A key role is to ensure all work is in compliance or exceeds current safety standards. The Lead Painter works directly with other contractors on site, and with Company staff to ensure all work is performed to building codes, regulations and approved construction standards, to complete projects on time and where practical and ethical under budget. The Lead Painter allocated general and specific daily job responsibilities. The Lead Painter reports directly to the Site Superintendent or Construction Project Manager.

Lead Painter Job Responsibilities Include:
- Plan construction processes
- Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Plan inspections and obtain construction permits as required
- Implement quality guidelines
· In advance anticipate and ensure manpower and resources are adequate
- Order the appropriate equipment
- Line up adequate staff
- Record employee daily time sheets
· Conduct site tailgate meetings
· Ensure Alberta One Call has been called site where required
· Ensure all utilities are identified and locked out if work requires to be tide in
· Work with AG Creation’s Safety Officer
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
· Evaluate risks on site
· Document safety hazard assessments
· Collect and turn in all employee and sub-trade hazard assessments
· Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
· Identify safety concerns and take appropriate action
· Maintain first Aid equipment
· Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project
- Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
· Supervise other workers
· Attend site meetings with Site Superintendent, and Company Management
· Read plans and ensure work is progressing to design
· Document daily progress on projects
· Document any delays to progress and reasons for delays
· Anticipant materials needed to keep work flowing and order/obtain such materials
· Train and mentor construction workers and construction laborers
· Identify extra work that is beyond the contract agreements
· Ensure all deadlines are met
· Delegate responsibilities
· Oversee the work of the crew and workers
· Read and understand blueprints for specific scopes of work
· Be a respected representative of the Company
· Keep the Site Superintendent and Project Manager updated on activities on site
· Comply with all Company policies including COR
· Maintain and increase knowledge of general construction practices
· Perform small tasks that support the other painters
· Erect dust, drip, splash or overspray protection
· Ensure the site is secured at the end of each day
· Liaise with client representatives confirming work progress and quality
· Identify and correct deficiencies
· Allocate general and daily responsibilities
· Train workers and trades people
· Supervise the use of equipment
· Resolve problems when they arise
· Be hands on with the painting beside other painters
· Maintain a current boom lift certificate
· Be willing to work remotely as needed
· Must be able to pass RCMP and Military security clearance requirements
· Other duties as required
Lead Painter Job Requirements
- Red Seal Journeyman’s painter certification is the must
- Work experience supervising painters on construction projects
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
- Highly organized
- Strong and proven leadership skills
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Able to plan ahead
- Familiar with construction and project management software programs
- Excellent knowledge of relevant rules and regulations as well as quality standards and human resources
- Conflict resolution and conflict management experience
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including negotiation skills
- Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
- Ability to lead and inspire

Pay: $45,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
