The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University, invites applications for a full-time Director of Performance Measurement and Improvement in conjunction with the Child and Youth Mental Health Program (CYMHP) and McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH). This position would be at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Contractually-Limited Category for a three-year period to commence April 1, 2021.
The position will provide leadership to steer the initiative for CYMHP and MCH to be a leading Centre of research, academia and clinical practice through an integrated approach to utilize and take full advantage of the numerous available resources. They will guide and direct the advancement of new and established leading practices in CYMH including enhanced data collection (including population health and social determinants of health), create greater collaborations across programs and departments, establish the foundation for the application of findings to address gaps in service/care and promote opportunities to build on existing services and quality of care utilizing a coordinated and sophisticated data base. Additionally, they will be expected to build on the guidance and leadership of the new role to promote a Centre of Excellence framework drawing on existing relationships with the Offord Centre for Child Health Studies, and the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics.
The candidate will have a doctoral degree related to Health Research Methodology and will spend their time utilizing program data, providing coordination of research and clinical practices that would position the CYMHP as a leading Centre of new knowledge in the field of child and youth mental health, and acting on opportunities to collaborate with the community, including minority community partners including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and new immigrant families. Furthermore, this role is built on existing partnerships with the Offord Centre for Child Health Studies and the greater Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences including the Department of Pediatrics.
