Purdys Chocolatier is seeking a Vice President, Retail Operations to help propel this iconic brand to the next level.

  • In addition to several years of executive leadership of the retail sales and operations function for a multi-jurisdictional brand, you bring a strong “continuous improvement mindset”. You’re known for empowering managers and employees to find new ways to both improve sales effectiveness and operating margins without compromising the customer experience.

Additional Key Duties
  • Works with the President and executive team to develop short- and long-term strategic plans, including the preparation of annual business plans.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure effective customer feedback systems are in place to capture customer needs, recovery and satisfaction level.
  • Establishes sales targets for retail sales channel and ensures business and operational plans are in place to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Provides support and coaching to the retail management teams to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Designs, implements, and manages sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes along with reforecasting as needed throughout the fiscal year.
  • Defines the optimal performance measurements and performance management programs required to ensure sales success. Aligns reporting, training, and incentive programs with these performance management priorities.
  • Integrate and align sales strategies with available talent, processes, IT systems, and other areas to increase sales force capability and success.
  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) along with company policies and procedures are established and followed.
  • Accomplish desired outcomes in line with organizational sales targets by communicating performance expectations.
  • Conduct analysis to manage sales performance against corporate objectives and market developments
  • Working closely with People & Culture, establishes a training plan focused on developing and reinforcing critical sales and customer service competencies.
  • Identify and share best practices from shops.
  • Identify needs from the field and work collaboratively with executive team and departments to make improvements.
  • Launch, implement new initiatives across a large geographic area with multiple sites
  • Lead, develop and motivate a sales team especially experience managing a remote workforce “from a distance”.
  • Credibility to present useful and concrete data to the Board and executive team.
  • Ability to identify and grow Talent at both store and District Manager level.
  • Provides leadership by creating a culture of excitement, dedication and service, in alignment with Purdys core values.
Our ideal candidate is a results oriented leader who has developed deep retail expertise across a range of retail operations functions, including experience as an executive, district manager, and retail store operator. A strong preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate flexibility to the needs of a large, complex business, and who possess experience as a senior executive in a retail business.
