Our client located downtwon is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to join their team immediately. (Early August)
This is a temporary opportunity for a CPA-designated accounting professional who can step into a leadership role, provide continuity during a transition period, and oversee the organization's day-to-day financial operations while leading the development of the 2027 operating budget.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance leader with strong full-cycle accounting experience, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven ability to improve financial processes and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, coordination, and management of the 2027 operating budget, including departmental budget submissions, analysis, forecasting, and ongoing budget tracking.
- Oversee all aspects of the organization's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements, reports, and presentations for the Board of Directors.
- Develop financial analyses, forecasts, and supporting documentation for executive leadership and the Board.
- Process semi-monthly payroll and ensure the accurate and timely completion of all payroll-related filings, including T4s, Records of Employment (ROEs), and CRA remittances.
- Maintain and strengthen financial systems, internal controls, and accounting procedures to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the finance function throughout the transition period while ensuring continuity of operations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiencies within the accounting and finance function.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Significant experience in full-cycle accounting and financial management.
- Demonstrated success leading annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Strong knowledge of payroll administration, financial reporting, internal controls, and cash management.
- Experience preparing reports and presentations for executive leadership and Boards of Directors.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Pay: $45.00-$65.00 per hour
