Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide specialized 1:1 personal care and companionship to a client living with dementia.
- Execute the customized care plan developed by the Care Designer.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) within your scope of practice.
- Help with mobility, safe transfers, ambulation, and light exercises.
- Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping duties.
- Ensure client safety, proper equipment use, and complete accurate care documentation.
- Promote "Happier Aging" by encouraging activities that bring joy and comfort to the client.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience supporting individuals with Dementia/Alzheimer's is an absolute must.
- Education: PSW Certificate (or recognized equivalent).
- Licensing: Valid Ontario Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written English skills (additional languages are an asset).
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a safety-first mindset.
