Employment Resource Worker

Position/Poste: Employment Resource Worker-Full Time Contract (8 Months)


The Employment Resource Worker works as part of the Vocational Rehabilitation Team to provide a variety of employment supports to consumers in work trials and employment, including but not limited to:

  • Receiving/reviewing/preparing: consumer files, employment plans, workplace descriptions, and progress reports
  • Providing one-to-one job seeker supports: resume development, interview preparation and job applications
  • Facilitate job search training workshops; assess and develop clients skills and abilities
  • Providing on-site/workplace support to participant/job candidate and conduct job/job site analysis
  • Assisting with identifying required/suitable workplace supports - establish a service plan
  • Providing on-site job coaching support - prepare objective documentation of observations and activities
  • Assist employer to implement natural supports for candidate - provide ongoing training, supervision & follow-up
  • Employer relations; act as a liaison between employer and candidate - receive employer feedback regarding consumer’s performance and MODC services
  • Marketing support; conducting cold calls - participate in marketing initiatives to promote ES programs/services
  • Administrative support; providing reception coverage as needed, assisting with administrative duties, and assist with preparing for audits

Qualifications/Compétences requises:

  • Degree in social services or equivalent from a Community College/University or equivalent; general business knowledge. A Certificate in Adult Education is also an asset
  • One year experience in vocational rehabilitation work with persons who have disabilities
  • Experience teaching /coaching adults
  • A varied employment history with experience in several occupations is also an asset
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills: knowledge of MS office Suite and Google Applications
  • Sensitivity to the needs of employers and various referral sources
