One of our client is looking for a dedicated and versatile General Labourer/Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating various machinery, including CNC machines, press brakes, and lathes, while supporting general labour tasks across the production floor. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, maintaining quality standards, and supporting overall operational productivity. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other automated equipment such as Fanuc controllers and programmable logic controllers to produce precise components.
- Set up and calibrate machinery including press brake machines and CNC programming tools to meet specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Perform welding tasks and mechanical assembly using hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
- Conduct quality control inspections utilizing calipers, gauges, and visual checks to verify product standards.
- Support packaging, warehousing, and material handling activities with forklift operation when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper equipment handling procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting machine issues and performing basic maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members on production schedules to meet deadlines efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and CNC programming concepts.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), and basic math skills for measurements.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques and mechanical assembly processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, quality control, and packaging.
- Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in hand tools, calipers, and measuring devices.
- Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to follow complex instructions accurately.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
