Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, and the Housekeeping Supervisors you will be responsible for ensuring that the hotels public spaces are maintained. This is a physically demanding position that requires a high level of attention to detail.
Shifts are: 1:30pm - 10:00pm and 8:00am - 4:30pm
Specific Responsibilities & Duties:
- Display, and develop a “guest comes first” attitude while on shift
- To ensure that all guests are treated with respect and professionalism and provided consistent guest service excellence
- To inform guests of all hotel facilities and services if asked
- To communicate to guests and staff in a professional and respectful manner
- Clean guest rooms and complete laundry tasks as required
- To relay information and issues to the immediate supervisor, including but not limited to; guest room repairs, shortage of supplies
- Inform Front Desk and/or Maintenance of any immediate concerns affecting the condition of the hotel, including but not limited to; damaged furniture, room amenities, leaking tap sets, leaking toilets, water damage
- Follow WHMIS protocols and use only approved cleaning solutions/agents correctly
- Turn mattresses quarterly as per the direction of the supervisors
- Restock housekeeping trolley with supplies
- Keeping work areas neat, organized and clean
- Abide by all memos and policies
- Turn in all lost items to the Executive Housekeeper in a timely manner.
- Complete tasks as assigned by Management
- Remain productive throughout the entire shift
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, notably ensuring to use safe work practices while cleaning guest rooms
- Follow Departmental and Glenmore Inn policies and procedures while on shift.
Qualifications:
- Previous housekeeping experience an asset.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent guest service skills, and strong communication skills.
- CPR, First Aid Certification an asset.
- WHMIS training an asset.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs without assistance
- Frequent pushing and pulling of up to 75lbs
- Ability to work frequently in tight quarters or with various physical constraints; requiring prolonged kneeling, bending and standing
- Bondable
- Literacy in English with the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
