Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our industrial maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience working on heavy machinery within manufacturing environments. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty equipment and machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and analysis skills
- Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, pumps, and electrical systems
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems for troubleshooting and repairs
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Conduct welding, HVAC, boiler work, and other specialized repairs as needed
- Follow safety protocols related to industrial electrician work and mechanical maintenance
- Assist with installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems
- Support team efforts in maintaining compliance with safety standards and regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or in industrial maintenance within manufacturing settings
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience, including low voltage systems
- Familiarity with schematics, CMMS software, PLC programming, HVAC systems, boilers, welding techniques, and industrial electrician practices
- Ability to analyze complex systems to identify root causes of malfunctions
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation
- Good communication skills in English for documentation and teamwork purposes
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant certifications or training in industrial maintenance or related fields are preferred
