Registered Plans Associate
(RRIFs)
How does the role impact the organization?
This role is critical to the administration and oversight of Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs), supporting clients in the retirement income phase. The associate ensures accurate and timely processing of RRIF withdrawals, minimum payment requirements, and lifecycle events such as account conversions and estate settlements. The role contributes to regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and a high-quality client experience by partnering with advisors, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
What will your role be responsible for?

Administer RRIF accounts with a focus on withdrawals, minimum annual payment calculations, payment scheduling, and tax withholding requirements

Process and maintain RRSP-to-RRIF conversions, spousal RRIF setups, and related account changes

Ensure compliance with CRA regulations, including minimum withdrawal rules, excess withdrawals

Providing support individually or in conjunction with other team members in investigating and resolving advisor queries within SLA deadlines.

Partner with Tax, Estates, Transfers, and New Accounts teams to resolve complex RRIF cases

Support year-end processing, including minimum withdrawal reviews and reconciliations

Participate in audits, regulatory reviews, and procedural updates related to RRIF processing

Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce risk, and enhance service delivery

Other duties as assigned.

What do we expect from you?

Fundamental knowledge of investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry.

Proficient in Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications.

Excellent Customer service, organization, and prioritization skills

The ability to work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail.

Demonstrate email, videoconferencing, and telephone etiquette and relationship management skills.

Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Demonstrate a professional manner to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.

Exercise tact and discretion in the handling of confidential information; and

Experience with Dataphile is an asset.

Communicate proficiently in French is an asset.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3 years’ experience within registered plans or financial services operation

Strong understanding of RRIF-specific rules, including minimum withdrawals, spousal elections, tax implications,

Demonstrated experience managing high-volume transactional workflows, including withdrawals, conversions, and transfers with a focus on accuracy and turnaround times
Licenses/Certifications

Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course is an asset.
Salary Range: $60,000 - 64,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and other job requirements.
