Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Form Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and installing formwork for concrete structures, ensuring precise alignment and stability. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, blueprint reading, and the use of various hand and power tools. The Form Setter plays a crucial part in ensuring the quality and safety of concrete projects, contributing to the successful completion of building foundations, walls, and other structures.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine formwork requirements.
- Set up formwork systems using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as needed.
- Install rebar reinforcement and ensure proper placement according to specifications.
- Use carpentry skills to construct, assemble, and adjust forms for concrete pouring.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during form installation and removal processes.
- Ensure all forms are level, plumb, and securely anchored before concrete pouring.
- Conduct inspections of formwork to identify any issues or safety hazards.
- Assist with concrete finishing tasks when necessary.
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including proper handling of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in concrete forming, rebar installation, or related construction fields.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
- Skills in carpentry, masonry, welding, flooring installation, and restoration are highly desirable.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and schematics accurately.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
- Prior experience with concrete finishing or renovation projects is a plus.
