Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our veterinary team. This vital role involves managing client interactions, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional customer service to pet owners. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate attitude, and preferably some laboratory experience to support our clinical team. This position offers an engaging environment where you can contribute to the well-being of animals and support our veterinary professionals in delivering top-quality care.
The right candidate must be willing to work weekends and 5 days unpaid training to better asses the right candidate for the open position.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly and efficiently check in and out pets for appointments
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments via phone or electronic systems
- Maintain accurate client and patient records, ensuring confidentiality and organization
- Answer phone calls promptly, address inquiries, and provide information about services
- Assist with laboratory procedures as needed, leveraging laboratory experience to support diagnostic processes
- Manage billing, payments, and insurance documentation accurately
- Coordinate communication between clients and veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming for clients and visitors
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanor
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Laboratory experience is preferred to assist with diagnostic procedures and record keeping
- Proficiency in using veterinary management software or similar systems is a plus
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
- Prior experience in a veterinary or medical setting is advantageous but not required
This role is essential in creating a positive experience for pet owners while supporting the clinical team in delivering outstanding veterinary care.
Pay: $16.50-$17.00 per hour
