Securiguard is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day Security Operations for our clients across the BC Interior including the set-up, oversight and deployment of individual temporary work sites as the pipeline is constructed.
This is a dynamic role and we are seeking someone with a self-starting entrepreneurial spirit who thrives on responsibility for all aspects of the business from strategic issues to front-line day to day operational issues.
Responsible for liaising with Regional Security Managers (RSM) and Construction Security Leads (CSL) for deployment of level 1 guard personnel
Set up and deployment of officers to remote locations / communities
Engage with First Nation partners and ensure maximization of FN employment and local employment through coordination of BST classes
Manage implementation and ongoing oversight of our Pandemic Plan to protect our staff, clients and local Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities from the Spread of COVID 19
Kit out team members and ensure appropriate issuance of uniforms, PPE, and any other required items
Support front line security officers in the field ensuring that they; adhere to site specific safety requirements including wearing all appropriate PPE
Ensure all security officers have completed all pre site access requirements including but not limited to, D&A testing, fit for duty testing, safety orientations, Bear aware, H2s etc
Oversight of tailgate safety meetings, set up field level risk assessments and identify hazards before officer deployment
Responsible for the fleet operations, work with office to advise of vehicle requirements and ensure proper forecasting. Coordinate fleet team to facilitate repairs / regular maintenance as required
Work with operations coordinator for effective scheduling and ensure appropriate staffing level to meet capacity and surge capacity needs
Generate weekly report for all sites and activities and or progress on corporate initiatives
Be aware of construction schedules / timelines to ensure information is relayed on future staffing requirements
Investigate and report on all security and safety incidents, utilize electronic software provided and provide recommendations and solutions based on findings of the investigations. Implement corrective measures where required
Coach, mentor officers and discipline where required for any breaches of policy and procedures
Be on call and able to support the operations as required
Manage, mentor and coach teams to success, address conflict and identify solutions to ensure a cohesive working environment
At least 5 years of experience as a manager or supervisor in an operational setting.
Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skill
CSTS, OFA 1-3, Bear Awareness training
BC Security Workers Licence or ability to obtain
Possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with clean Driver's Abstract.
University Degree and/or College Diploma or certificate in Security Operations, or equivalent experience is an asset.
Supplementary course work such as CPP or other industry standard certification, Security Operations, Safety Training, Health & Safety, First Aid Certifications, Defensive Driving, Emergency Management, Supervising for Safety are asset
Experience working in the Security or Law Enforcement Industry is an asset
