About the Opportunity
The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of mechanical construction projects, including overseeing field staff. Reporting to the Project Manager, this position works collaboratively with the project management team, and other site leads to plan, schedule, and direct work while ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications, productivity, and schedules. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping IPH innovate and evolve as an industry leader and employer of choice.
As an IPH leader, you will provide strong people leadership by developing, coaching and mentoring team leaders to enhance performance, build capacity and foster an accountable and high-performing work environment.
Leaders support operational performance by guiding teams, strengthening client relationships, managing productivity and timelines, and fostering collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Site Leadership & Team Management
- Lead site and coordinate activities with IPH site team, ensuring expectations are set with the crew.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure alignment across all trades.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders, providing updates and resolving issues.
- Mentor, develop, and manage performance of site teams, including coaching, discipline and constructive feedback.
Safety Management
- Promote health and safety policies and ensure hazard awareness.
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and support incident reporting and investigations.
- Ensure that new workers are orientated for site-specific conditions.
- Report all incidents and near misses.
- Review and close out observations in a timely manner.
- Audit FLHAs for compliance and quality as they relate to safety.
- Ensure site team is competent on and ready to perform the required tasks, including valid certifications and SJP/SWP signoff.
- Ensure subtrades are participating in and are compliant with site safety requirements.
- Ensure all work permits are completed when required.
- Assist in the development and review of project hazard assessments.
- Identify gaps and improvements in safety practices.
Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with codes, specifications, and quality plans (ITPs).
- Monitor and address quality issues on site.
- Report all quality incidents; identify and support all NCRs (non-conformance reports); and provide assistance with corrective actions.
- Review and sign off on ITPs.
- Manage the completion and compliance of inspections.
- Ensure workers are competent in the installation methods and identify training requirements.
Project Planning & Execution
- Assist with the development and maintenance of project schedules.
- Create and update project lookaheads.
- Identify out-of-scope work and assist with the development of change events.
- Create RFIs as required.
- Ensure the work is performed to project drawing specifications and scope of work.
- Ensure timesheets are filled out daily and signed by the crew.
- Plan and coordinate material procurement and deliveries.
- Document work in progress through OpenSpace or project daily log.
- Proactively communicate with subtrades regarding project schedule.
- Track production and performance against targets.
- Performs other related duties, consistent with the role, skills and level of responsibility as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Red Seal designation in Plumbing, Pipe Fitting, Sheet Metal or similar is required.
- Leadership and Safety Excellence certification is required.
- Completion of the IPH Supervisor course is required.
- Completion of the Mine Supervisor course is required for work on all mine sites.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Occasional out of town travel is expected.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach performance and guide multidisciplinary teams and support staff development.
- Understanding of project and office software, with openness to learning, sharing knowledge and improving digital practices; Procore experience is an asset.
- Demonstrates humility and willingness to learn.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration, coordination, change management and issue resolution.
- Good understanding of quality control procedures and a commitment to safety.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Adaptable and highly organized, with strong problem-solving abilities.

Pay: $47.00-$53.00 per hour
