The Aggregates Performance Intern will provide operational performance tracking support for the Western Canada Aggregate performance team. This is a developmental role with an opportunity to gain widespread expertise within our business with the ultimate goal of building a long-term career with Lafarge.
Technical support for all areas of the business including:
Operations performance measurement
Implement and manage new reporting platforms
Develop and improve data capture systems and user engagement through site visits and understanding of site specific challenges and opportunities
Produce reports for key performance metrics across Western Canada
Examples of responsibilities may include:
Be present in the operations to understand the business. Learning daily operations through site visits and job shadowing
This position will blend working with operational data and in the field learning opportunities.
Launchpad to develop into an operational leadership role throughout Western Canada
Support the WCAN Performance team as they drive business improvements through the use of manufacturing performance metrics
Assisting to develop strategies and objectives for improving performance measurement and reporting across 5 Market areas in Western Canada
Working on reporting at a country level that is used as part of global reviews
Mobile fleet tracking and reporting for over 200 pieces of equipment
Performance tracking and reporting for over 25 Aggregate production sites across Western Canada
Present training or seminars to individuals or groups on the performance advantages of current and new systems and processes
Systems will be interacting with: SAP, Trimble Insight, FileMaker App, Agg Flow, and various OEM software such as Komtrax, Visionlink, Unified Fleet, and others.
Recent graduate from either a University or Technology Program with a focus in Mining, Engineering or Technology
Interest in a long-term career in mining or construction
Experience & Skill Set:
Knowledge and experience would be considered an asset within:
Mining engineering industry
Working with systems data collection and reporting or analytics
On-site construction experience would be considered an asset
Ability to make rational decisions and resolve conflict
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer technical aptitude to learn new systems and programs
Self-starter / Problem solver / Self-disciplined
Good presentation and interpersonal skills
