Position Summary
The Front Counter Sales Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to contractors, electricians, and retail customers at the front counter of our electrical wholesale branch. This role involves assisting customers with product inquiries, order processing, sales transactions, and product recommendations while ensuring a positive and efficient customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Assist customers with product selection, pricing inquiries, and order placement.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on electrical products and materials.
- Answer customer questions regarding product availability, specifications, and applications.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
Order Processing
- Process sales transactions accurately using the company’s point-of-sale and inventory systems. Prepare customer quotations and sales orders.
- Verify pricing, product availability, and delivery requirements.
- Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer pickups.
Inventory & Product Support
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Help stock shelves and organize front counter displays as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock shortages to management.
- Stay informed about new products, promotions, and industry developments.
Administrative Duties
- Handle cash, credit card, and account transactions accurately.
- Maintain organized customer records and documentation.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
- Support branch operations with general administrative tasks as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service, sales, retail, or wholesale experience preferred.
- Experience in the electrical industry or knowledge of electrical products is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) occasionally.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and retail environment.

Working Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.
- Work is performed in an electrical wholesale branch environment, including customer service and warehouse areas.
- Due to warehouse structure, you may experience more heat exposure in the summer months
