Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of all pool visitors. This role involves monitoring swimming areas, enforcing safety rules, and providing immediate assistance in emergency situations. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining a safe environment while delivering excellent customer service. Prior swimming experience is essential, and the ability to perform heavy lifting may be required during certain duties.
Duties
- Constantly monitor swimming areas to prevent accidents and respond promptly to emergencies
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure safety for all patrons
- Administer first aid or CPR as needed, providing immediate assistance during incidents
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool area and safety equipment
- Conduct safety checks on rescue equipment and ensure it is in proper working order
- Assist with pool opening and closing procedures, including setting up safety barriers and cleaning tasks
- Educate patrons on pool safety guidelines and respond professionally to inquiries
Skills
- Proficiency in swimming with strong comfort in water-based activities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling rescue equipment or setting up safety barriers
- Excellent observation skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patrons and team members
- Calmness under pressure, especially during emergency situations
- Certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid is preferred but not required; training can be provided if necessary
