Boutique Sales Associate
We are seeking to fill the position of part-time sales associate at our trendy Salmon Arm Boutique. Past experience working in a boutique shop is an asset. Applicants must have weekend availability.
We are looking for someone who loves people, is outgoing, and super friendly! Attention to detail and organizational skills are also a must. Our ideal candidate is someone who shows up early or on time and does not miss shifts. We are a small, family-run shop, and we must be able to rely on each person we hire.
A positive attitude, the ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment, and a love to have fun and sell fun products are requirements! We pride ourselves on an in-store shopping experience that is more fun than anywhere else in Salmon Arm. We love getting to know our amazing customers and helping them find the perfect items for themselves or for gifts.

Job Purpose This position helps create a warm and welcoming environment while providing excellent customer service and memorable shopping experiences. Under the supervision of the shop supervisor, the sales associate is responsible for engaging with customers on the sales floor, providing product information, personalized recommendations, and support throughout the shopping experience. The sales associate handles transactions smoothly and accurately, ensuring the final moment of a customer's visit feels just as warm and intentional as the first.
Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet all customers in a professional and friendly manner that emphasizes a pleasant and inclusive atmosphere.
- Engage with customers to better understand their needs and provide helpful recommendations.
- Operate the Point of Sale (Lightspeed) system with attention to accuracy and efficiency in completing transactions.
Store Operations
- Perform opening and closing duties by displaying merchandise outside the front of the shop in the morning and bringing in the merchandise at the end of the day.
- Follow the cashing in and out procedures.
- Maintain neat and tidy merchandise displays to highlight gifts, natural body care, home decor, and jewelry.
- Replenish stock, making sure displays look full and inviting.
- Ensure the shop remains clean and organized in order to maintain a visually appealing sales floor.
- Maintain safe conduct and safely use store equipment, reporting all workplace incidents, injuries, and accidents to the supervisor or manager.
- Act as an authorized designated keyholder responsible for maintaining facility security by managing access control, executing standard opening and closing procedures, and ensuring a safe, secure, and ready environment for staff and customers.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with coworkers to post 6-8 stories on the store social media account daily.
- Participate in shop events by informing all customers of current promotions.
