B.S.L. Machine Limited is a leading manufacturer in steel components, design, fabrication and repairs including a specialty in gearing and gearbox remanufacturing.
B.S.L. has been in the machining industry since 1965, primarily serving industrial applications in the
Edmonton area.
We are currently recruiting for a manual lathe Journeyman Machinist reporting directly to the shop Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Study job orders and interpret blueprints to determine operations to be performed.
- Operate machines by setting up and adjusting three and four-jaw chucks (where applicable), tools, attachments, collets, bushings, gears, stops and indicating devices
- Set up and operate machine tools to perform repetitive operations
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Work with blueprints to produce work pieces conforming to quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Load, unload and move products and materials using basic material handling equipment and by hand, up to 50lbs.
Machine Specifics:
- Working on a manual engine lathe, handling & machining parts up to Ø76" x 30ft long x 20,000lbs within safe working limits
Experience:
- Journeyman Machinist / Red Seal
- Minimum 10 years work experience as a Journeyman Machinist (Required)
Schedule:
- 8 hours, Day shift
- Overtime available as needed
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends if required

Pay: $32.00-$42.00 per hour
