Position Summary
The Clinical Flow Assistant is responsible for keeping patients moving efficiently through our busy medical clinic. The primary goal of this position is to ensure that exam rooms are ready and the next patient is seated before the physician is ready to see them, minimizing physician and patient waiting time.
This is an active, fast-paced role that involves frequent walking between the waiting area and exam rooms throughout the day.
During slower periods, the Clinical Flow Assistant may also help with simple administrative and operational tasks as directed by clinic management.
Daily Start Expectations
- Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked and ready before the first patients arrive
- Identify and report any missing supplies or room-readiness issues before the clinic day begins
Key Responsibilities
1. Room Turnover & Readiness
- Promptly prepare exam rooms after each patient
- Keep rooms stocked with required supplies
- Maintain clean, organized and ready-to-use exam rooms
- Identify missing supplies or other room-readiness issues
2. Patient Rooming & Flow
- Monitor which exam rooms are available
- Escort patients from the waiting area to the appropriate exam rooms promptly
- Make sure each physician's next patient is seated and ready whenever possible
- Keep patients moving efficiently to minimize physician downtime between appointments
- Stay aware of each physician's pace and adjust patient rooming accordingly
3. Team Coordination
- Communicate with physicians, reception and clinic staff regarding patient and room availability
- Anticipate which physician will need the next room
- Help maintain smooth patient flow during busy clinic periods
4. Administrative & Operational Support
During slower periods, the Clinical Flow Assistant may:
- Assist with simple front-desk or administrative tasks
- Help staff with other clinic duties as needed
- Receive cross-training in basic clinic workflows

Training will be provided.
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
