Responsibilities
- Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Conduct GMP inspections and verify adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Verify ingredient traceability by cross-checking lot numbers against production records.
- Review raw materials and finished products for quality, including expired ingredient verification and sensory evaluations.
- Monitor and record temperatures of coolers, freezers, and finished products.
- Verify ingredient, deposit, and finished product weights to ensure product consistency.
- Review and verify production records, quality documents, sanitation logs, and pre-operational inspections.
- Verify the accuracy of inner case labels and master case labels.
- Create and maintain master case labels as required.
- Test, verify, and calibrate metal detectors and other quality monitoring equipment.
- Conduct protein swab testing and verify sanitation effectiveness.
- Perform calibration of thermometers, temperature guns, and scales.
- Conduct facility inspections, including glass and hard plastic audits, wood inspections, sanitizer concentration checks, and premises inspections.
- Verify Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for incoming raw materials.
- Manage hold-and-release programs and maintain related documentation.
- Investigate quality issues and prepare corrective action reports.
- Assist with employee training on food safety, GMPs, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Update recipes, production documents, and label reference binders as needed.
- Track second-sale products and monitor expired inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety, quality assurance, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or quality control is an asset.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety regulations, and quality systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
